Clerk of the Court
- Pay the ticket, admit guilt for the infraction, and have the points appear on your Driving Record.
- Contest the ticket, have the Clerk of Court set a court date to contest the charges in court.
- Elect Traffic School, receive and 18% reduction off of the Civil Penalty portion of the ticket, have adjudication withheld (you are determined "guiltless", and have the infraction removed from your Driving Record).
You can choose to attend a Driver Improvement (Traffic School) course once in any 12-month period and no more than five times in your lifetime.
A judge or court can send you at any time and this does not count as a "choice" or "election" to take traffic school (does not count as one of the five times).
